Monthly Events Recap – July 2023

The Wellington Residents had a fun-filled July!

The month was kicked off with Canada Day celebrations with tasty cupcake treats and delightful entertainment. Thank you Syncronicity for a great show.

Residents & staff also enjoyed a visit from Kool Jim’s Ice Cream Truck this month! Nothing makes a hot summer’s day better than a cool ice cream cone.

Our Beach Day parties were also a success. Everyone looked great in their beach wear! There was an abundance of dancing, laughter, and singing throughout the home. Thank you, Paula French and Aidan Purnell, for helping make our parties a blast!

Lastly, our residents enjoyed BBQ lunches this month on our patio. Thank you to our Food & Nutrition Manager Kathleen for cooking up delicious hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone to enjoy.

Next month will be packed full of more summer fun, we hope to see you there!

JUNE is SENIOR’S MONTH!

Hawaiian Day is one of the many special events we will have to celebrate the seniors at The Wellington! All had a great time. Big Thanks to the Entertainers Escapade and Villi V for coming out to perform for the Residents and the staff who participated.

Walk for Alzheimer’s

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, The Wellington Retirement and Long Term Care Home traveled to T.B Mcquesten Park, Hamilton to sponsor and participate in the Walk For Alzheimer’s, which affects many in our local community and globally.

It was a beautiful day where connections were made, the day was enjoyed by all involved and The Wellington Supported a Great Cause.

Thank you to The Alzheimer’s Society for putting on the event, the staff, residents, families, and community partners for coming together and working as a team for a great day!

Our Staff Are Amazing!

A heartfelt appreciation to all of our hardworking, caring, and phenomenal staff members at the Wellington! They plan such wonderful spirit days and activities for all our residents, have conversations, make them smile & laugh and take great care of them!

We know these times have been difficult, and we appreciate your continued dedication & passion. The love, laughter, hope & joy you bring to work each and every day puts a smile on all of our resident’s faces!

We thank you for everything you do for all of our residents.

Happy Canada Day from the “Eh” Team

Happy Canada Day from the “Eh” Team at the Wellington. Nursing Home residents enjoyed a traveling Canada Day Party with old fashioned ice cream floats. Retirement Home residents celebrated “Canada D’eh” in style decked out in red & white. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful day with root beer floats.
